About us
Oslo Imaging and Therapy Laboratory (OITL), established in 2021, is a multidisciplinary contract research organization (CRO) specializing in radiopharmaceutical development
Our history
Oslo Imaging and Therapy Laboratory (OITL) was established in 2021 as a specialized preclinical research facility within the R&D department of the Norwegian Medical Cyclotron Center (NMS). NMS, founded in 2003, was the first producer of PET radiopharmaceuticals in Norway and has since evolved into a leading center for radiopharmaceutical research and production.
OITL was created to advance the development of radiopharmaceuticals for both diagnostic and therapeutic use, with a focus on translational research and molecular imaging. The laboratory offers preclinical contract research services to academic and industrial partners across Europe and beyond. OITL collaborates closely with Oslo University Hospital and the University of Oslo, and contributes to international capacity building through its partnership with the Norwegian Nuclear Research Centre (NNRC), supporting education and training in radiopharmacy and nuclear sciences.
Our team
At OITL, our research team brings together diverse scientific backgrounds to drive innovation in radiopharmaceutical development. With expertise across key disciplines in chemistry, biology, medicine, and physics, we contribute to all stages of radiopharmaceutical research — from molecular development to preclinical evaluation.
We foster a collaborative and inclusive research culture, where knowledge-sharing and interdisciplinary dialogue are central to how we work. Whether in internal projects or external partnerships, we are committed to advancing science through openness, curiosity, and scientific excellence.
