In vivo imaging
OITL provides a comprehensive imaging platform with integrated multimodal systems to generate high-quality in vivo data for translational research
PET/CT
Our facility is equipped with the Benchtop PET/CT from MR Solutions, an advanced integrated preclinical scanner system with a motorized animal bed enabling automatic, high-resolution imaging of multiple animals simultaneously.
This setup allows OITL to deliver precise dynamic and static whole-body 3D imaging studies, tailored to your preclinical research needs.
Features and capabilities
- Dynamic and static whole-body imaging of mice and rats
- High-throughput multimodal imaging by use of animal hotel bed
- Cardiac and respiratory gating
SPECT/PET/CT
OITL operates a preclinical, integrated SPECT/PET/CT scanner, the VECtor 6 platform from MILabs, designed for high-resolution, whole-body or targeted 3D imaging of both PET and SPECT tracers, either separately or simultaneously. The system includes multi-pinhole collimators with high sensitivity, capable of detecting a broad range of gamma energies at ultra-high resolution. It also features a fully integrated low-dose X-ray CT scanner, enabling seamless multi-modal imaging without the need to transfer the subject between different scanners.
Our platform allows users to select from various collimators tailored to animal size, specific tracer requirements, desired resolution and sensitivity, and the radionuclide’s energy level.
With the VECTor 6 multi-modal system, OITL offers:
- Dynamic and static in vivo imaging of mice and rats
- Sequential multi-modal SPECT/PET/CT and BLT imaging
- Cardiac and respiratory gated scanning
- Staging and monitoring of disease progression in various preclinical animal models
- Multi-isotope imaging and quantification
- Reconstruction and post-analysis software
BLI (2D) & BLT (3D)
Our facility holds an optical imaging module (OI-module) for both fluorescent and bioluminescent imaging with a range of probes. As a stand-alone system, the module can be used for planar imaging of single animal and up to ten animals simultaneously, whereas when integrated to our existing VECTor6 platform, the OI module is able to acquire 3D bioluminescence tomography (BLT) scans.
The integrated SPECT/PET/CT OI system allows for sequential multi-modal imaging, facilitating translational in vivo research.
Capabilities
- High-throughput 2D bioluminescent imaging
- 3D bioluminescence tomography (BLT)
- Integrated SPECT and/or PET multimodal probe imaging
- Validation of cancer models, e.g. xenografted and/or orthotopic animal models
- Staging of tumor growth, metastasis and response to treatment
2D SPECT
The 𝛾 -eye (BIOEMTECH) is a portable benchtop system specifically designed for planar 2D scintigraphic imaging of SPECT and alpha-emitting radionuclides in mice. This user-friendly imaging solution empowers OITL to provide fast, precise and cost-effective in vivo screening of novel drug candidates and radiotracers.
Leveraging the gamma-eye’s capabilities, combined with our expertise and high-throughput processes, we accelerate drug discovery, optimize radiopharmaceutical development, and provide your research with a decisive edge in speed and efficiency.
Features
- Fast and cost-effective planar imaging of SPECT and alpha-emitting radionuclides
- Whole-body mouse dynamic and static imaging
- High-throughput screening of the in vivo behaviour of novel drug candidates, enabling efficient drug lead selection, optimization and accelerated drug development
- Software for post-processing of imaging data
